    MX6201N

I have yet another issue just looking to feed off this wonderful knowledge base about.

MX6201N is having issues collection toner on the Fuser Exit roller during large duplex runs and then transferring said toner onto the sheets.

Sharp had a fix about toner int he area and we did that to try and solve this issue but it still is happening. I have adjusted the fuser temps for duplex to see if this would resolve it as well.

Any other suggestions would be helpful,

    Thanks.

Check that the plastic web frame is not warped due to heat. Once warped, it won't sit or clean properly and the extra toner always seems to find it way to the exit roll. I've also seen the lower plastic frame warped as well.

I managed to solve the problem by dropping the fuser temp for plain paper duplex to the same values used on heavy weight paper.

They were running 6 500 sheet duplex jobs, and I went to check that the machine ran these fine and they said without a hitch.

      WOOT!!!!

      thanks for the reply.

No I did not set it for heavy paper cause then I would have issues with the Print Drivers. We just simply reduced the fusing temperatures using the sims. Have not had a problem since.

Lower it about 10 degrees or so and then test it for a week. If the problem still occurs try 15 degrees.

          Hope this helps

I did not do a physical temp reading. I probably should have but I knew that the temp was too high as in this location as soon as I got int he building I started to warm up and eventually sweat which is not normal for me in most offices. I just figured that it was too warm in the building. (no offense to women) but this building has many women working in the office so I think they like it warm in there.

I was wondering exactly which values you changed under sim 43. There are to many values there to guess at. I have a brand new machine building up toner chuncks on exit guides and causeing jamming. would like to try this 1st.
                Thanks

                  Re: MX6201N

Hey there, sorry I misunderstood your question. If you look at the manual 7-43 i dropped the items A-L. If the value was above 170 I dropped it by ten or less keeping the value at 170 or higher.

                  For example
if the value is 165 (no change)
if the value is 175 (I dropped it to 170)
if the value was 180 (dropped it to 170) or higher I dropped it by 10.

I did not fuss with the heavy paper values just the READY and PLAIN values.

This seemed to fix all the problems.

Just make sure you have the default values with you in case you mess up.

Just a side note, for some stupid reason I am second guessing myself that I actually raised the temperature. I can't comprehend why I would have raised the temperatures so this seems unlikely. However if the above doesn't fix the problem it might be the opposite. I feel like someone had suggested to raise the values to the 70-sheet machines values because the machine might have been loosing temperature over the course of a large sheet running so fast. But honestly I can't recall exactly and am pretty sure that it was the lowering that solved the problem. BUT I AM CERTAIN THAT IT WAS SOLVED BY FUSER TEMP ADJUSTMENTS.

Sorry for possibly confusing you but I am not at liberty to go check unless we get a service call from them.

                    Re: MX6201N

the lowering seems correct. i brought the temp down on plain paper and duplex plain paper and test ran 400. no jams. my only conclusion would be that maybe the paper has some slight moisture and this creats the issue at the fuser. thanx for your help.
