    Sharp AR-M236, Service code U2-40.

    Sharp AR-M236, Service code U2-40.

According to the manual this is a CRUM chip communication error.

-Any hints please where to look?
-How to reset in case its only a temporary error?

Check the toner and developer unit to make sure they're completely inserted properly into the machine, try running a sim 16 after checking to clear the error.

Most times, just reseat the cartridge and run sim 16, like Akitu says.
The only ones I've ever seen that did not reset, were re-chipped, re-filled cartridges.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The connector bracket at the rear that receives the toner cartridge is easily bent if customer/tech forces toner cartridge in. With the rear cover off, you can give the bracket a tap to straightened out and maybe the cartridge will seat properly. Then use TC 16 as mentioned to clear code.

Whenever I have seen this the machine blows the chip and at a minimum you have to replace the chip before sim 16.
