Sharp al-2051 digital copier / printer problem!!!!

Bought this copier some months ago. Everthing has been fine until the moment the toner cartridge ran out. I purchased another one online, only to see that it was not excatly the same with the one that I had. It fits perfectly, but does not have the "toner cartridge - chip" so my copier can not recognize it though it's a 100% original Sharp toner, I think it is meant to be used on another copier maybe a Sharp AL-20** , I don't know. So I emptied the contents of the new catridge into the old one. That is when I realized a new problem, the copier still detected the toner cartridge as empty. The toner catridge chip, of course. So I would like to know if I can do anything about this. Is there anywhere I can buy the chips only? What else could i do? Is there some service code I can type in? Please let me know.

The best thing you can do is buy an OEM (Sharp brand) cartridge that has the correct CRUM chip. You won't have to empty anything. For the $10 you saved buying the generic refilled cartridge, you have spent how many hours of your time trying to make it work? What is your time worth?

You seem like a semi-intelligent person. For me, the real question is: Why are you even asking? Isn't it obvious? =^..^=
