I have an Architect that prints a lot of 11 X 17 prints. And the paper is bowing up/or being pulled up and rubbing on the metal brackets that hold the drums. Thus causing the toner to smudge before it reaches the fuser. I checked Sharp net for a tech bulletin and could not find a solution to this problem. Maybe I over looked it, or maybe I am thinking of another machine. But, I could of swore I read something about speeding up or slowing down the fuser to stop this bowing up action. Anybody ran into this problem.

Fuser Speed.
The fuser motor speed is adjustable in simulation 48-06-D. The default is 85. I personally have never had to adjust it , but in class some time was spent explaining that the paper can buckle up if the fuser speed is too slow. Adjust in single increments. And no, I don't know if higher is faster or if higher is slower. Guarranteed which ever way you choose to adjust, it will be the wrong way. That's the rule.If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Seems to be fixed will know more tomorrow.
The customer uses the top tray for 11 X 17 which is probably not the norm.
All my other BC customers use the bottom tray.
Anyhow, I went today and the customer says it only happens on the first copy after it comes out of power save mode. So, I lowered the speed number to 80 from 85 on long paper and the smudge went away.
I set power save mode to one minute for testing purposes. But, I am not sure if this will have the same effect as the first copy in the morning.Comment
