[Dead] Imagistics 3511 (sharp 450) with e7-90 error code/noise inside...

Service manual states "commmunication error" between PCU and ICU as source/cause of the error code.
What has your experience with this code been in the past? ICU circuit board issue? Other? Machine is down/inop and customer states tht there is "noise" in the front of the copier.

Sharp shows most likely cause is a corrupt ROM on PCU. Have only had this once that I can remember and updated firmware was our fix. As for the noise it will all depend. A lot of times the customer states a noise and it is just the toner nearing end of life but these do have a problem sometimes with waste toner containers being full. Will need some more information since there are a lot of things that can cause "noise".

you better go to check 2 earth springs inside the ps unit are missing or not?

NOISE was the front fan (replaced)... after that, Phantom faultcode didn't return..machine- ok.
