The GDI drivers are used for USB printing.
Sometimes it will extract the package but when it's plugged in it doesnt recognize the printer. In this case, once the driver package setup has been run, it places the extracted .inf file in a folder on the C drive under drivers.

Once it's in here you can do a printer wizard and use the USB port and "have disk" to the drivers folder on the C drive for the .inf file.

    Hope this helps.

Sharp usually releases SPLC drivers for USB GDi printing. PCL drivers will not work. these drivers are available along with pcl drivers for downloading. i guess using SPLC (or SPCL) should solve the problem. Farooq

You need to replace both dimm cards then you can key in the product key. The product key need to be requested with sharp by using the application no. that come with the ar-p20 kit.
the ar-p20 already discontinued long time ago.
Is it possible to use an AR-P20 from another machine and get the product key still?

Nope, not without an act of God (product key support).

Zootech, do you mean Sharp won't give another key?

The productkey was derived from sharp document solution division in japan by using the machine serial number. So you cant use same product key with different serial no.

Did you try to print to it using simple generic drivers?

draph, it appears that Sharp disabled the local printing function so people could not use thrid party controllers and have to pay ransom to Sharp.

That's right! Put memory in gear now. AR-P21 NIC card, hard drive etcetera. The "U" was never intended to print straight from the box.

So why did it come with two ports? Have to ask the great minds of Sharp I guess.

I think printer spooler service is disabled by the system administrator in that computer. Go to my computer right click than go to services here you see printer spooler service, make it enable. Now go to printer console u can see ur printer.
