    Sharp MX5500n powering off

Weird problem I am having with this sharp mx 5500n. I returned to this machine with the idea of a simple fix of replacing a control panel.(Did not get that far) Now I have a dead machine and only when I unplug and plug back in the pwr supply powers up and after 10 seconds it shuts down. Repeatedly does this. I have check voltage in wall outlet and i am getting 120volts and same reading out of pwr supply until it shuts down. No lights on control panel light up the entire time.

I have done a shotgun approach with a parts machine i had so basically switched out all boards in machine. I thought it might have been that i was troubleshooting with back off machine but i have found no door switches anywhere that would prevent machine powering up and also placed covers back on to re assure this. 22 years of service this one has me stumped! Small one man operation here and would love some advise! Thanks!!!

Have you tried swapping fusers? On older Canons, an open fuser lamp or exposure lamp shuts the main switch Off after ~5 seconds. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

what does it do if you leave the front door open and turn the copier on ? does it still turn off? did it just start doing it by itself, meaning it has been working fine with out anybody doing service on it?

You said you changed boards, but did you replace the ROM chips with the ones from the new boards or re-use the original ROM chips? I had a similar issue when my PRGM2 BOOT ROM chip got corroded in a monochrome machine.
