    [CQ] AR-168S SPF issue

Yes it's an old machine, forgive me.

Copies off glass are as dead on perfect as one of these will make. Copies through SPF are fine as well EXCEPT that the last 5/8" of the copy is cut off. It's as if the scanner stops scanning before the last part of the original passes over it. When you lay the two copies side by side or on top of each other they line up with no more than 1mm variance in where the image is on the paper. Mag ratio is 100% with original test chart scale.

I've tried every TC that has to do with lead edge, and void area that I can find and while minimizing trail edge void does help a little it is nowhere near what is needed.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

You may want to look at the registration sensor in the spf. I have seen it pop out of its holder and it will give you strange reg problems. If you look in there it will seem correct look at the back side the way it snaps in. Good Luck

The scan rails on this model are notorious for picking up dirts of all kinds. It's occasionally accompanied by a bit of a chattering sound and can cause those exact same symptoms.

Take off the glass and lube up the scan rail, your problem should clear right up.

You called it. Once I got it in the shop and apart it looked like it was in place but wasn't.
