Up to that point incoming and outgoing faxes were not an issue.
FYI. These machines are installed in a high security prison. I am severely limited as to what I can bring in to do diagnostics. No phones or computers etc. Getting a USB jump drive with firmware into the area took special permission. I am unable to use the web to change anything on the machine. Whatever I do must be done via the machine's screen.
Wonder what would happen if you bring drum starting powder(dusting pouch) with you and they find it

Are they aware not all the options are on the copier screen and some things have to be changed by the web browser?

This is the problem with dealing with prisons. Their rules make it damn near impossible to do any work. The person in charge of policy doesn't have to deal with the problems.

this machine is not networked and has worked perfectly since June when installed until last Thursday.
How did he sneak in the "cheap portable fax"..?
I dare think of hiding places....ouch.

If you wanna get to the web page, use a laptop and a cable. You don't even need the crossover cable with new machines.

Make sure not a simple DSL issue requiring DSL filter on fax line. We had similar issues with ATT Uverse and a cheapo Brother fax worked almost every time but the Sharp FXX2 did not until filter was installed.

The fax problem was resolved when I reset the machine to factory defaults. They haven't had an issue since I did that. However I have been called twice for a U6-00 code. The first time it was cleared by the time I got there. Today I got another call that the U6-00 code had popped up again. Since it is after 3:30 they are all gone for the day. I will make the 80 mile trip again in the morning. Anyone hear of the U6-00 code? Is there anyway this may be related to the original fax issue? It doesn't appear to have any connection that I can figure out.

U6-00 is Desk Paper Feed Unit trouble. Reseat your connector from the extra trays to the MCU PWB.

I have had at least 2 instances were the line level was not loud enough to trigger the fax kit, both were after an analog to VOIP conversion.
The newest Sharps have a Digital Line check box which helps with VOIP systems.

What SWS's do you use to change the baud rate and coding? I'm always nervous to change SWS so I want o be certain i'm changing the right ones.
