Try putting it in manual mode. These machines would make partial copies in auto exposure mode when the supply life was overdue.
    Hope that helps !

As far as I know, Bill, we're still not able to upload images. We were hacked about a week ago, and are still recovering.
But the moderator is working on it.

          Sorry about the inconvenience. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The problem is that the image is being saved as a link. I use Firefox. Right click on link. Click on "Save Link As" and save the image file. Open the file.

Re: Sharp SF-2530 will not make full copies - service questions -

I was able to visit the machine today and cause it to make copies.

The diagnosis was that there was a transfer problem. This proved to be correct.

CCS, oldrn, blackcat4866, it was the transfer/separation charge unit.

The transfer separation corona unit / transfer charge unit was in need of physical adjustment. I will probably tweak it some more, too, tomorrow or the next day, as I am able to get there.

Now that it's making copies again, there appears to be some further adjustment (or perhaps merely cleaning) to be done.

The copies are "dirty" that is, there are streaks and some (very faint) persistent ghost images from the previous copy or two. The copies are almost--but not quite--good enough for use.

I thought that this might clear up after a few copies but it seems to be fairly steady, even after a dozen or so copies.

I suspect there may be a grounding issue at the drum due to the faint persistence of images. My reasoning is that may be because the drum is not fully discharging between copies.

Other possibilities that come to mind are:

cleaning the optical path and elements (denatured alcohol/distilled water?)
cleaning the main corona charging unit (specialized foam block and up/down technique required?)

Anyway, I'm ready to put some tools to use now, thanks to the good advice and information from copytechnet forum members.

Any good clues as to where to begin making the copies less "dirty"?

Note: I have tried to upload images, unsuccessfully so far. Maybe I do not have enough posts yet? I'll try again here. The (2) images are of the transfer/separation corona unit.

Thanks again guys, I sincerely appreciate the assistance.

                I use firefox, too.

That didn't work. But, I run linux. Maybe a difference.

When I tried that, it saved OK but opening it gave the message "loading meta information failed".

                GIMP couldn't open it either.

It seemed like it didn't upload properly to me--too fast, like there was no data transfered.

So maybe the hacker situation has resulted in a lock for us of some sort. Oh well, it was just a couple images from the manual.

Thanks for the info on the situation.

It didn't work for me either. Thanks for the attempt slimslob.

I agree that the resulting file must be corrupt. It was only 12KB. It wouldn't open with any application I have, and IRfanview will open just about anything.

Now for your ghosting images and streaks you will just need to replace the drum cleaning blade, part #CCLEZ0117FC31 Here is a source for parts:
