    Sharp MX 3501N has loud noise and dumping " Brown " waste toner.

    Sharp MX 3501N has loud noise and dumping " Brown " waste toner. The waste toner hopper asby has been replaced with new. Not affecting copy quality, but noise is quite LOUD.

    The "brownish colored" waste toner is getting dumped into front side of verticle transport area and down into the paper drawers. The noise almost sounds like a really loud humming / groaning, not really a grinding gear type noise. Maybe a locked up stepper motor..but I noticed the waste toner stirring motor did turn at times??? Not much exposure to this model but would like any advice before we follow up with this long-distance client.

      Check your primary transfer belt, it might be torn.

          Wouldn't that affect copy quality ?? CQ seems good on B/W & Color.

              Yes that's correct. It would at least cause terrible copy quality, and paper may not even pass if the belt is tangled. You may have fused toner rocks in the primary belt cleaning unit. For a copier, it's like passing a kidney stone. =^..^=
              If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                      Blackcat is more than likely spot on. I've seen it many times. Waste toner coil gets bound by toner stones causing the drive gear to skip.

                          sounds like the cleaning blade on the main transfer unit has flipped over.
