    E7-14 error

This error E7-14 has come up twice on a brand new mx-5141. The first time was the day of the installation at the the customer site. Clearing the code by cycling power it did not return that day. Now, about a month later the customer called in to report it occurred again. By cycling the power the code was cleared. If I recall correctly the customer stated the error occurred when they were scanning via df. The first time the error occurred I don't recall what function was being done. Any help would definitely be appreciated. Thanks

Hellooooooooo? (hellooo, hellooo, hellooo ... ) Anyone listening? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I'd try Replacing the CCD next and remember to change the ccd cable as well. If that doesn't work I would be calling Sharp Direct, main boards would be next...!

In speaking with Sharp Tech Support I was advised to try the following:

-turn off compression for Black and White
-set compression to low for color.
-set exposure from Auto to manual and set to 2
-reseat ribbon cable and all connectors test

The error code is intermittent when scanning around 40-60 sheets from the spf. Have not heard anything yet from customer and will be following up with them tomorrow. Will post my results.

last resort, replace scu, ccd, and cable as set.

No solution yet, customer reported the error continues when they scan a stack of docs. My next move is to check the cables for ccd and scu.

has the scu pwb been replaced ? If board hasn't been replaced yet, try just flashing scu firmware in sim 49.
