I haven't seen any on Sharp. They must have better technology for the panels. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
Would like to know which Sharp models are suffering from the dreaded touch panel disease of unresponsive touch panels.
Lots of thanks in advance.
Hans
I had a customer recently call on for a scanning issue, and while on the phone she mentioned her touchpanel was "slow", she would count a 10 second delay from the time she hit one of the buttons to the time the machine would complete the activity.
This was a brand new instal of about 2 weeks prior. They are on scan to e-mail so I figured it was a network problem on their end. I was kind of at a loss on the touch panel scenario, so I recommended the 'ol power cycle. She called back about 10 minutes later and said that seemed to fix BOTH issues.

There is a setting in system settings for touch length that can be set up to about two seconds. Have seen this messed with.
The first generation of the new style display had a slight response delay. Models such as the MX-3610N. Updating the firmware to version 7 or higher will improve the response.

Yeah, I told her that it was likely something someone messed with, without knowing. However, according to her a reboot fixed the issue... so not sure about that.

Nice input guys but that doesn't help me.
Sharp's are not suffering from UNresponsive touch panels??
Coming from a Panasonic background, I have to say Sharps touch pads are pretty well made.
The Panasonic part number DZTE000044R is burnt into my brain!!!
Haven't had any unresponsive touch panels but the new ones seem to "drift" and have to be recalibrated every so often. Maybe this is what you mean by unresponsive? Also had 1 touch screen with a small dent in the surface and that area of the screen was screwed up in a 1" X 1" area, rest of the screen worked just fine.

Yes, that's the problem. It starts with "Drifting" as you call it and than after some time the touch panel is not any longer reacting to the inputs and cannot be recalibrated but has to be replaced.
What are those newer models? I'm not a Sharp guy, that's why I'm asking.
