    Re: Touchpanels for Sharp.

The only time I know of a touch panel not responding was on the MX4101N and like machines. The USB interface board (tiny little bastard) would fry itself and would cause the whole touch panel to go haywire.

As previously stated the first iteration of the Aries machines (2610, 3110, 3610) had a delay on the touch pad fixed by a firmware revision. All newer machines (2615, 2640, 3115, 3140, 3615, 3640) have no problems with the touch pad to my knowledge aside from a small drift on the calibration.
Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil?

What are those newer models? I'm not a Sharp guy, that's why I'm asking.

Haven't had one go bad yet but seems to be happening on 2 or 3 different series. More of a nuisance for us but something I watch for and correct as soon as I notice it.

On the machines with only a touch panel, I've had at least two that I remember, that were out of calibration out of the box and I've had several go out of calibration in the field bad enough you almost couldn't get into sims. I just got in the habit of calibrating them on each call.

Not a fan of touch panels.
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

If you're unable to get into SIMs, there are two switches on the main pwb. One of the switches, if turned on, will take you to the calibration screen (TC 65-1).
Mojorolla has a good picture of the switches, but I can't find it at this time.

Is this what you you're looking for? I saved it. The picture is from a Virgo.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks. I know about those, I'd just prefer to avoid going that route, so I just calibrate often.

Did I mention that I hate touch panels??
