When using glass copies are fine. When document feeder is used there is black are 2" thick across page. Is this some kind of white balance adjustment or width detection problem using adf? Your help is appreciated. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

Re: AR-M237 2" black across page using doc feeder
Does this band run in the feed direction, or crossfeed? Does it have sharp, crisp edges, or fuzzy, fading, or uneven edges? Solid black (K=100) or something less than 100% fill? How about uploading a scan? =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: AR-M237 2" black across page using doc feeder
It was explained to me by a friend in the business. He borrowed an rp3 radf from me but I have not seen the machine myself yet. I will take a look myself on tuesday as he is closing shop monday. I have 2 sheets he gave me but don't know whether the black border is in paper feed direction or front to back of machine. It goes from black to gray and then white. FrankComment

If optics are not absolutely square, you could get a good copy off glass, but not through doc feeder."You can't trust your eyes, if your mind is out of focus" --Comment

Re: AR-M237 2" black across page using doc feeder
The black area running in direction of paper was due to damaged right side hinge which I ordered this afternoon. Doc feeder being forced slightly out of position Thanks again to all for your input. FrankComment
