Strange Gaps in Images with Specific Colors on MX-C311

I have two MX-C311 machines I'm working on refurbing. I'll be honest, they've been sitting unused in a warehouse for the good portion of a year. When I printed some tests using SIM 64-1, I noticed some absences in areas of specific colors. Black and Yellow on one, Magenta and Yellow on the other. I've swapped developers, drums, transfer belts, cleaned the LSU, none of it seems to fix the gaps. They're consistent across the width of the document and seem to happen only on the edges.

    Here are scanned samples.

    Any Ideas?

To me it looks like the developer starter has shifted to one side of the unit. We see this all the time on new Kyocera units that have been stored on end.

For the Kyocera units we determine which side is lacking developer, then vigorously shake some developer in that direction (the individual developing unit, not the whole machine). Running a stir does not seem to help, even after 4 or 5 tries. It's just a waste of time. If you look at the developing brush, you should be able to detect the lack of fill. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That was my first thought too, but I've swapped developer units completely and there isn't a change at all. The same area is blank, down to the millimeter. The brush looks completely and evenly coated on all 4 colors. I also tried different drums, drum units, I tried a different transfer belt and I wiped off the LSU. Is there a PTC in this machine? I doubt that is the issue but it's something to try.

It's possible that it's a primary transfer issue. Remove the transfer belt, and check that the individual transfer rollers are snapped into their holders. They are notorious for falling out, even in new units.

You can test this by emergency stopping the machine and check that the developed image on the particular color drum is good, yet the developed image on the primary belt is incomplete. =^..^=

I agree, it looks like a transfer problem, try printing a sold page of colour and stop the copier mid print. Are the drums fully coated? If so you have a transfer issue.

This can also happen if the primary transfer gear cracks and the belt begins slipping.

The Transfer Belt rollers are in place and the gears look ok.

Have you checked your laser shutter functionality?
