[CQ] Sharp mx350+ false change toner message

Customer replaced toner, a couple days later they got the message to change toner cartridge even though it was still full.

I installed a new cartridge thinking I got a defective toner. The toner coupling gear thing was still intact and machine accepted new toner. Quality was shit so I ordered them drum, blade, and developer. By the time I made it back two days later the machine had the "change toner message". I did done quick research and decided bad developer was maybe causing this. So I replaced the drum, blade, developer and toner at the same time and ran SIM25 a auto dv adjust. Everything looked great

A day later the quality went to he'll(lots of background), by the time I stopped back out to see what was going on, the change toner message is back.

    What is going on???

Could a bad density sensor in the dev unit cause this? Does the machine force the toner Crum chip to think its empty? Can I revive the toner cartridges without replacing chip, or is the chip shot?

The toner being used is from katun, same stuff they have always used. Toner motor works in SIM, toner coupling is secure.

Any help would be much appreciated

This is a challenge. Yes, a bad density sensor in the DV unit could cause it. But why then did it work for you when you ran SIM 25-2?

When you run that SIM it is setting up with the toner that came mixed with the developer. Right after the first few copies it starts adding. Then your machine goes funky. I can only assume that Katun made a batch of defective toner.

Don't get me wrong. I'm a big fan of Katun. Use lots of their products, toner included.

And even OEM's have toner problems of their own from time to time. Anyone who was around the Sharp SF-811/20/50 back in the eighties can testify to that.

Dump the developer, install OEM toner and I think you will be fine.

Yes, a bad toner density sensor can cause that ... but, like draph said, you wouldn't get a good developer stir (~100).

I'd do like he said. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
