MX-M5111 - Scanned to email image has a reverse image

I have a couple copiers at 1 location that are having the same issue of reverse image and one that is fine.

When scanning to any email, there is a reverse image. Black is white and vice versa. Copies come out fine. This is happening on 2 copiers

There is 1 machine that sends the scans to emails just fine.

I have tried device cloning and storage backup from the working machine, same issue. I have flashed the firmware and have the same issue. I do not see an option for reverse image.

I do not feel that the issue is in the optics or SCN PWB. Maybe MFP PWB?

    Has anyone else seen this?

What is the original image? Have you tried a test chart?

Have not tried a test chart. Regular text document that comes out fine on copies and the white portion is black and black is white on scan jobs. It occurs on every scan. Did not think of making a sample.

As much as it might hurt I suggest you back machine with Sim 56, clone and address backup. Then run the end of lease mode to restore settings to factory. Manually set up SMTP and test scan to email. Can determine if clone or address book etc if stops working right after restoring.

This is a question, not an answer. Is it possible to set b/w reverse as the default in the admin settings? I've never checked but I'm wondering if it could be that simple?

            Intriguing ... =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I will check for for reverse copy as a default. I will also reset settings and configure from scratch.

Thanks for the help. I have not seen the reverse image as a default option. I did not get to the factory default, but the issue ended up being low compression. Only the destinations with low compressions experienced the issue.

It sounds like a firmware bug that you were just lucky enough to be the first to find. =^..^=

Did you clone addresses from another model? That would cause odd settings and problems.

I did, but I do not believe that to be the issue. I think the client may have added destinations with low compression. Not all addresses were faulty.
