Sharp AR-650 with RFN8 finisher Jamming

    Message:
I have this Sharp AR-650 with a really wierd problem, it feeds the paper properly but when the paper gets to the registration roller the machine hangs and continues to run but the paper does not get fed past registration, a few seconds later it goes into a paper jam at the reg roller.
I disconnected the finisher and the machine works beautiful, I checked for dirty sensors, jammed actuators, stuck motors or anything suspicious in the finisher but with no luck, I also have the toshiba version of this machine with a similar problem in the finisher , are this finishers any good?... Or maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? Any input will be greatly appreciated..

    Possible solution!

Reading thru the posts here I found a possible solution, It says to check the paper guides in the duplex unit, I will try that and will post here tomorrow.... Hmmmm...what do you think?

      Sharp jamming/finisher issue

      Copyworks:
I have experienced the same problem, unit works fine without finisher once the finisher is attatched you recieve a paper jam in the pfp section after a minute of running. I found little help in the service manual or online. So armed with a used unit and some trial and error I found the problem to be (Insert drumroll to build up suspence) THE LOGIC PC BOARD (PWA-F-LGC-300). This is the large board on the lower right back (closest to the finisher). I do not believe the toshiba and sharp boards are interchangable. Please note once replaced my machine would work fine with the finisher attached. The problem now is 2 of my paper trays (front upper and lower) no longer function (just flash on screen to load trays) I suspect they are locked due to the numerous paper jams from each tray. Have looked in the service manual and can't find a reset procedure for locked pfp trays. If you or anyone else know the reset code or procedure please post or e-mail me. If I should find the answer myself I will post it later online.

P.S. The discription of the logic board location was not ment to offend anyone just included for those who may not work on these machines on a regular basis.

      Good Luck,
      AeroInc.
