In my experience, pulling DV out of the unit (unless it's something mechanical like the seal bent), would be high voltage arcing. As mentioned, I'd try a different side door & main charge if all my connections looked to be good.
    Hope that helps !

I was also a sharp tech for years. They have been prone to "puking" (the exact term I used to use) developer for decades. Somewhere in their basic electronics, if any one of five things get out of whack.....it pukes DV in variable amounts. It was always a combo of things that cause it, therefore working on a fairly new machine renders your attempts worthless. Just simply grab an entire DV unit, HV power unit and corona's from another machine and swap them. Don't be amazed if you end up with no problems anywhere. You are not going to solve the problem, Sharp never has. SWAP PARTS.

Geez. sounds like a main charge to grid short somewhere. Maybe closely check the rear wall contacts for the drum unit for a short? Might find a burn mark or some clue there.

I'll be sure to check on that while I'm on site this coming week.

One more thought, make sure the box is level. I know it may seem elementary, however, I have had un-level boxes loose developer.

I agree with this. I have had more than one MX-M260 that has dumped dv that were not far off from level but still made a huge mess of things. The 257 has a different dv box but is still similar. Those monster levelers prove their worth when you need them for more than stabilizing the machine.

check out bulletin MFP-TB-843 for mxm260 dev puking.

on the 257 dev spew, Akitu you said you had replaced the dev unit and both dev units were showing the ee-el error and in the 70-80 range. depending on how much dev spews out does the developer show signs of being overtoned or a lot of toner misting on the dev seal and drum unit. With a reading of 70-80 the dev should be overtoned or close to it. I had several sharp copiers that had similar issue, replaced dev unit, charge, transfer , hv board. but noticed that the dev density reading in 25-1 or 25-2 was at 70-75 with no errors and the dev looked on the gray side (undertoned) which was causing dev to be pulled. It ended up being the pcu board(mcu board on 257 series) as the reference voltage in the board was messed up.

                  Re: ARM257 puking developer

I have fixed every ee-ll code by wiping the film/ residue off the toner density sensor. After I clean them they calibrate perfect. However, I still have a few machines that pull developer, after replacing all the parts but the board. So, I lean towards a board being your problem for pulling and a dirty sensor for the EL code.

I have seen this before as well and usually i find that the side door is the problem. Check and clean the contacts were the transfer roller assembly goes. Something i do is stretch the springs out that connect to the trans roller assembly as well as pinch the tops of the spring slightly to make them oval shape so that they fit higher up on the contact. I also stretch the contact springs that make contact with the main chassis to ensure a good contact. I clean the contacts and springs with 600 grit sand paper with alcohol.

Let us know what finally works for you.

I know this is an older thread but another tech in my company is having the same problem. We put conductive grease on the shaft the drum/PCU contacts and this seemed to fix the problem...for now.
