    ARM207 Colour Scanning

I have just installed an overhauled ARM207 in a customers today but can't get it to scan in colour at 150dpi. B/W works fine but colour scans cause it to just sit there with "reading" on the display and has to be turned off to reset. I think it may need extra memory on the ARNB3 but I had to leave before I could check. Checking the specs on the Sharp UK web site , it looks that the memory is only needed to scan at 600dpi but it should scan 150dpi colour as standard. Anyone else had this problem?

That's an excellent place to start. The memory upgrade for the AR-EB9 is 256MB (Sharp part# SHP32X64S133C3-B).

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

One of my colleagues fitted the memory upgrade for the AR-EB9 but then the machine had a blank screen. I will be trying ARNB3 memory Monday. If that does not work Im not sure what else to try.

i dont think that it is a memory problem
I made the color scan in ARM205 at this 300 dpi without adding any memory.
The scan u did from the machine or from the computer .
Try the method u did not use.
If u use the computer to scan try to change USB port or install another prpgram to scan.

The scanning was sent from the machine to a windows 2003 server which I had set up with Scannertool from Sharpdesk. The fact that it sends B/W scans ok would suggest that the PC side is set up ok but when scanning colour it just sits there displaying "reading" as if it can't manage that much data.

Turned out to be a faulty EB9.
