    Sharp MX-FR14U

Hi I just purchased an off lease Sharp MX-363N with a data security kit. I tried to update firm ware an I get a firmware does not match message. I checked firmware twice.

Also checked dip switches on MFP power board. juniper 0303jci0

    Thanks in advance

You need to download the DSK firmware, not the machine's firmware.

That is what I tried, but the machine does not like it. Are their any soft switches that would block it?

Not that I'm aware of; what method are you using for the upgrade?

49-1 with a flash drive. I tried both USB ports. the description of the security kit says common crit, does that mean any thing?

                Re: Sharp MX-FR14U

You have an MX-FR14 not an MX-FR14U. Common Criteria DSK's are certified & cannot be updated. If you change it, it's no longer certified.
                Hope that helps !

Thank you, I did not know that their was another version. I wish that their was a way to delete those programs. I appreciate all of your responses.

                  Thanks

If you can get a regular PRG and Boot ROM set, your data security kit will be gone.

Make sure you don't have the MX-fr23u. Let just say from a certain past experience it shows up as a 14u in the 22-10. See TT TT-20215.

Are you sure that it is just those two chips? I have removed it from some older machines but I figured that their was more to it on newer equipment.

I wonder if I could use MX- 2600 chips flashing them manually? I have a parts machine.

                        Thanks to all again

It will show error code if you install original ROMs. I had to reset Passwords this way on three units and it does show error.

if you reflashed the machine would the error go away?
