E-455, multiple jams at vertical paper pass (EB-50, E-550)

I have replaced one of the sensors under the door cover, but it seems like the other one is bad as well. Part number C0-17839000 is the sensor for both in that section, one paper pass and one for opening/closing the door. I was fighting this machine for a while, but didn't realize that I could have had TWO sensors out at one time! I noticed that the part number for these sensors had changed in RIBON, so I wonder how many of you guys have had to replace these stupid things? The machine never jams from Tray 1, but from Tray 2 and the LCC, she'll jam.

    Thanks in advance!

Other causes that I've seen for EB50's are:

    1) Pickup clutch slipping.
    2) Separation roller with flat spot
    3) Bad patch of paper stuck together
    4) Separation torque limiter in need of grease

    =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

also, replace the 2 actuators for those sensors.

I looked at the actuators, they look fine and not worn at all. Are you saying there is something about them that's defective as well?

E550 mostly came from ADU sensors.

they get worn down to a point and affect timing, but sometimes get 061 codes with that problem.

For EB50 u must have to change two sensor together located black cover near aligning roller

And check 2nd drawer transport cover for EB50. Press it using your hand while you feeding from 2nd drawer

Sensor actuators do get worn, guide and mylars that sensors are housed in get worn, guides on side door around bypass roller get worn, try extra wrap on actuator springs

The problem was never solved, although I suspected it to be a pinched wiring harness somewhere. Sometimes, while running paper, if I "shook" the machine, paper would continue feeding without a jam. I immediately went for the tray input sensors, which are known to go bad, but that wasn't it. I replaced the entire Feed Units, the entire Transport Door from another machine... same thing. I will just end up using this one for parts, unfortunately!
