ES450 with C010 code. Main drive

It started out as routine work. It was mis-feeding from by pass and tray two. All the feed rollers were over their
rated life. So I changed them, re-assembled the machine and test. It ran fine from tray 1, but tray 2 & by pass tray
give the C010 code when it feeds the second sheet.
I cleaned the sensors and rollers when I installed the rollers. Took both of the feed assemblies out and checked for
binds, none. Checked it with the sep roller in and out of play. The sep rollers turn in the right direction. Swapped the
feed units, same symptoms. Took the DV unit out and ran the main drive output program. No funny noises. Starts
and stops smoothly. Must have done something funny when I put the by pass in.
I have the books and followed the directions.

Has this happened to anyone else? What did I miss???

    Thanks

    DR

I have been servicing this unit for 8 years. I know it's old but it has always
run pretty good. The customer only does about 2000 per month when they're
busy. And they have not been very busy for a while.
      The meter is at 494K.

Usually what you find is the rear developer bushings leaking. The developer acts as an abrasive, combined with the additional drag from the developing unit causes the MFP to eat three gears in the main drive pack. The confirmation will be the pile of developer in the back of the cavity.

Is it possible that another tech replaced the developing unit, but did not look at the mostly worn gears in the main drive pack? =^,,^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I dug into this machine earlier this week and found that the gear pack for the main drive motor was gummed up with half dried grease. I just took the gears off one or two at a time, cleaned and re-lubed. Put it back together and it works fine. Thank you everyone for you assistance. How could I fail with this kind of support? Thanks again DR
