    Scan to email stopped working

    Hello

    Yesterday 6/14/16 I started getting a number of calls with customers saying the scan to email that I had set up stopped working. It turns out all of the customers that called are using gmail and have machines in the es4520c family. Has anyone else seen this?

    I forgot to include that machines in the es4540c family are working with the same settings. Here in the shop I have put two copiers on the network using the same gmail account and settings. The 4540c is scanning with no issue and the es2330c is failing. The message in the log is Failed smtp authentication

      I am seeing the same issue. EbridgeX and EBridgeNext are fine but Ebridge3 will not scan via GMail (or other similar providers). It is not a firmware issue as far as I can tell but I have not see and EBridge3 working with a gmail account for a couple of weeks but newer machines are fine.

        According to our IT it is a firmware issue. Patches have been issued on the 282/283 version 999; 2500C/3500C/3510C version K2; 4520C series, 455 series, 6530C series, and 855 series version 364. It's specific to Gmail. Our IT has been barraged over the last few days. =^..^=

        If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Toshiba Europe do not have that firmware version available. Do you have a copy I could download for the 4520 series to test.

            having same issues with 3530c/ 4520c series. At first I was just retyping in password under smtp settings, that worked fro a couple O'days.
            Now back to ground Zero, Help!!!

              blackcat already answered it, gmail changed a security setting (I'm assuming) and Toshiba has posted a f/w fix. I'll be testing that tomorrow since it just started happening to my customers this week. Gonna check for f/w and see what happens.
              Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

                  I have had an odd development today. We have upgraded a machine because of the issue and i was going to apply the us firmware but before i did i put it on our network and tested it and it worked fine. I tried a another customer and theirs still fails. I now have 2 machines both 2330s. Both on firmware 331. Both in our workshop. 1 works. 1 does not.

                    Which of these machines are scanning to Gmail? Gmail only is affected. =^..^=

                      Have tried several free services all with the same result. Authentication failed.

                        We haven't received those f/w versions here in Canada. The latest version available from Toshiba Canada is quite old now, v331 from Nov 2014!

                        Hopefully see a release soon here.

                          Our distributor doesn't know of the firmware change. Was it recent? Looking for the firmware for a 3510c.

                            All others are dated 14 June 2106

                            The 2500C, 3500C, 3510C is dated 24 June 2016. The original firmware file link was corrupt. =^..^=

                              Hi Valentine,

                              For security reasons, gmail accounts was secured by GMAIL. You must login your gmail account in gmail and simply go to "My Account" > "Connected apps & sites" under "Sign-in and security" > you must enable the "LESS SECURE APPS".

                              Try the scanning after.
