can any recommend an brand name hard drive that will work in a 556 or 557 ( not purchased from Toshiba) thanks in advance.

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You need to use Toshiba drives with wipe technology. They are expensive and fail daily. Also before you update firmware on the newer machines you should check 05-9065, if the value of c5 is 1 or more you will need to replace the hard drive before updating the firmware. If you don't it might work for awhile but it will error out f101 within a day or 2.Comment
