C4E2 Fuser belt rotation detection sensor abnormality.

I have the manual and worked on this model before.

The error comes with gears noises.

I replace the fuser drive assembly broken gears. I replace the fuser belt rotation detection sensor (S49). Belt is rotate when machine turn on, but error code comes on.

I clean the sensor's flags.

I check connection between the sensor to fuser contact - ok.

Check connector 306 on LGC board. Can't find connection between fuser connector to cn 306 (not sure).

I don't have another fuser.

03 test still doesn't show switch.

Any experience with this error code?

So you've changed the fuser drive assy? The gear 30T (gray) can cause your C4E2, or if the two 3mm screws that secure the shafts of the fuser drive assembly from the front become loose. You can also have gear failures in the fuser.

With these causes you won't hear gear noise: The bowtie flag on the satellite roller can discolor to a point where it's not properly detecting rotation. The optical sensor can become dirty or fail. The bushings on the heat belt foam roller can disintegrate.

That all being said, there have been a couple machines with new drive packs and new fusers that still code out with C4E2. In those cases I've backed off the fixing pressure by ~10 rotations of the pressure screws. I only take this step once I've covered the other bases. =^..^=
