    eS855 Intermittent CA10

... and that's not all! When I tried to get into 9S the display came up blank. All the service modes and now the copy mode comes up blank screen. The interesting part is that the engine warms up and maintains temperature, and the hopper tops up the toner in the dev unit. So the engine is completely Ready ... but the UI has taken the day off. All the voltages are present at the power supply.

I've gathered a laser, PLG, SYS, and op panel for the followup call Has anybody seen this combination of symptoms?

I'm predicting that the SYS is the main cause, since both the op panel and PLG are routed through that board. It would sure help if I could use the machine diagnostics, but with the screen blank that seems unlikely. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Wrong again!

In this order, I tried (only 1 item, then removed):
    Op panel
    SYS PWB
    SYS-IF
    Memory DIMM
    SRAM

then the laser assy brought back everything. Then I tried the old laser and new PLG, and got the CA10 again. So the final fix is PLG to bring back the display, and LSU to keep from blowing out the PLG.

    That was exciting. =^..^=
