Do not use the adf to confirm registration problems. Keep it simple. Put a test chart on the glass and run off 30 or 40 copies and check if the registration is changes. If so, I would go back at the reg clutch. You didn't say if you were experiencing any jamming either. You may have introduced other issues if you started changing adf's or settings. Also I would not be using a used reg clutch to troubleshoot!

Registration clutch is one of the common problem on this series, when print many pages, the images will shift resulting jam.

Another common cause of varying registration is a broken front door strap, or maybe an incorrectly assembled transfer roller assembly.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Check the registration and 1st transport sensor flags. The original shinny plastic actuators would wear quickly.
