    Toshiba 456 tray 1 and 2 jams

Paper jam Letter-R from tray 1 and 2 when the paper reach the fuser. The registration of the print on the paper is in the correct position.
    Install new fuser.
    LCT Letter - no jam
Tray 2 is legal paper doesn't jam all the time as much as Letter-R jams (in both tray 1 or 2).
Legal paper and Letter paper from LCT have a buckle about 1/3 page from trail edge when they ejected.
I replaced the lower transport clutch.
Changing the registration margin - jams at all options.

    Any idea?
    Thanks

Cold you provide a little more information like total copy count and error codes. Since most of this generation of copiers is getting up there in age I would be thinking of updating reg assy with new actuators and the updated gray sensors as a bare minimum. this generation had known issues with this area.

This machine does not auto paper size detect in the paper trays, so you must program the paper size. Otherwise you'll get paper size mismatch E161, E162, E163, E164, E165.

Without a jam code I can't tell you much. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I'm to the point to where if blackcat tells me that a goose lays golden eggs...I'm going to buy me a goose.

          EDIT: That's supposed to read: ... size mismatch E061, E062, E063, E064, E065.

          I had a dislexic moment. =^..^=

            Thanks for your help guys.

The error is E061 (even when the display shows Letter-R in the tray).
            Conclusion:
I call Toshiba tech support with his help I Change 08 - 4542 from 0 to 1 (disabling the switching for incorrect paper size) he also recommended to replace all 3 clutches and the switches actuators and upgrade the firmware and look at bulletin 1431.
Changing the 08 - 4542 to 1 solved the problem for now.

The registration flags will fix this. Flattened separation roller can also contribute. =^..^=

Like you said, for now it will. If the unit has over 250k on those models pay attention to the 2 side paper guides with flattened spots right outta each tray. Those as well as the actuators have to be replaced, the fact that turning off that code works for now is because the timing is different when surfaces are worn wo changing that code will get you going. But to solve the issue make sure you check the black paper guides coming outta LCF, 2nd tray and the registration guide as well as their actuators.

Re: Toshiba 456 tray 1 and 2 jams

The one thing that is most overlooked on any of this Toshiba series is the REGISTRATION CLUTCH... It causes all kinds of weird issues, even without affecting the image registration. And you could possibly have bad paper sensors as well, although unlikely, since this series machine already has the GREY colored sensors, which are newer and don't normally fail. The black ones on the e-455 series definitely failed, all the time.

                    Hope this helps!
