    Toshiba e-Studio 456 Printing problem

    Good afternoon,
    I have a Toshiba e-Studio 456 that has an off-center printing problem. I have 2 paper trays LT and LT-R. When it feeds thru the LT-R in landscape mode the left margin is near the bottom of the page. When in portrait mode the bottom 1/2 in or so of the print is off the paper and it invariably jams in the finisher.
    The LT mode is near perfect, never jams.
    One tray is larger than the other so I cannot swap them. Changing configuration between LT and LT-R only changes the positions of the offset.
    A service handbook would be nice as I've read here they are very useful. Any help appreciated.
    I'm not a copier tech, but I'm learning a few things!

      Over time, sometimes the paper guides slip in the paper trays.

      Take all of the paper out, place one sheet back in and eyeball if the guide marks match your paper size.

      If not, use a Phillips screwdriver to readjust your guides.

          Thank you so much! That fixed my problem. It works great in both Landscape and Portrait mode now. I drew lines on the paper dividing the page exactly in half, both vertical and horizontal and centered it up. Those screws were still pretty tight, I wonder how it got skewed so badly? No matter, THANKS!!

              Usually its from slamming the tray closed. If you looked at the rack gear attached to the rear guide you might have noticed a few teeth missing ... misaligning the paper. =^..^=
              If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                  Old trick use to use. If they never changed the paper size in the tray, I'll take one of the larger plastic thread screws, and screw it into
                  the bottom of the rear paper guide. I got fed up with some who slammed the #)#@%*# trays LOL.
