    [Dead] Toshiba E-Studio 203L D.E.A.D.

    Good Day all!

    I joined this forum in hopes to receive some help.

    My roommate bricked my toshiba printer while dinking around with it while i was at work.

    No local company does home visits, so i'm forced to try and remedy the problem myself.

    My E studio Printer's HDD was wiped, I assume my roommate was trying to clear a code and well its bricked.

    My last hope is here otherwise i'm going to give it away to a local company for parts or repair for them to use.

    or donate it to a library that has the ability to have it fixed and purchase a different smaller unit.

    I received it for free when my work place was upsizing their printers for speed, so i'm not about to dump hundreds of dollars into this printer to fix it.

          If memory serves you can try to format HDD. Power on holding 0 and 8 keys enter 690 then hit 2.

              The main problem is I cant access the 08 test menu as it says "Cant access HDD Data."

              I cant get into any of the test modes as it blue screens with the above message after start up.

                  The Toshiba e203L was introduced around 2009.

                  Toshiba Tec Japan no longer technically supports this copier and no longer inventories parts nor toner.

                  I doubt if you will find a Toshiba dealer who would take it for free nor make any attempt to repair it.

                  Best advice is to screw off all of the plastic panels, remove the platen glass, toner and developer unit and take it to a metal recycler for free.

                      We haven't been able to get new HDDs of this type for 5 years or more. I agree on the recycling.

                      It'll make a great doorstop. =^..^=
                      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                          I kinda figured that was going to be the case, my IT guy at work literally said "your F&$#@&" my local transfer station will take E-Waste and make sure its properly recycled.

                          I appreciate your guys' help and insight!!

                          Ill buy another printer and get rid of this oversized brick.
