    Toshiba e389cs Fuser error

I have a e389cs/ Lexmark XM4140 that was displaying a fuser error. I replaced it with a used fuser from a known working e389cs model.

The fuser error stopped being displayed but the copier was only printing about 25% of the width of the page.

I made sure the fuser was correctly inserted and fastened tightly by the two thumb screws.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

I am not saying the fuser could not cause the issue however it seems unlikely. Does it happen when printing from a computer the same as when copying? Is it different from the glass or the document feeder?

Basically fusers are fixing what is already printed. You can stop it while printing and see where image loss is coming from.

I was back onsite with the same tested, working fuser. I removed the toner/drum assembly, waste toner box and belt. I resassembled and made sure everything was latched tight.

Presto! The copier works. I think a previous person worrking on the copier left open a latch that I did not see the first time.
