eBN Fax Receive Forward

My e2505AC FW V1610 is programmed under Registration/ Fax Receive Forward to send me an email when a fax arrives.

It fails to do so. All of the proper buttons are checked in Top Access.

I have dial tone and all incoming faxes now print at the copier including unwanted junk faxes.

I get quite a few faxes as automatic meter read reports.

I have reinitialized the fax board.

Any ideas?

Is scan to email functioning? If your scan to email isn't working, it won't be able to complete the second part of the transaction. =^..^=

Yes, I use scan to email many times per day.

Could it be that the size of the email attachments exceeds the capacity of your email provider? Scan to email failure 2C15? =^..^=

Sorry, unlikely. I have reached out to Toshiba tech support. They suggested to make sure the paper trays had no Special settings attached them and have auto tray settings turned off.

No incoming faxes today to test.

I am asking because I had this issue before and figured it out but cannot remember how I did it.

Fax Receive Forward is a commonly requested feature.

You likely don't but...along the lines of similar things and FYI knowledge to help track down weird things...

If you had a snapshot of the ECC files before and after your firmware update you could poke them into MMDT2 and see if any codes have changed.

Setup a forward to SMB instead of email and if that fails, points towards the machine.
I only use an address from the address book to forward but have had to delete the email addy and re-enter as the forwarding address.
You can test by using the HP test fax (1-888-473-2963) to get a fax incoming; keep in mind fax header and ID must be filled out

How does that HP text fax thingy work? I just for giggles called the # from desk and get fax tones, but how do you get it to call you? Or do you do a manual RX when you hear the tones?

Have a look at the soft switches in the web interface. Not long ago, I had a customer that could not fax out. It would receive faxes but didn't print. Their security conscious IT folk had flipped the switches to disable fax Tx and Enabled Rx but no print.

Naturally I asked why. They had no idea why. They just thought that it was a good idea to flip some switches in the web interface.

Once you send the fax, the HP system looks at the fax header and ID (fax number) and responds with a sheet to that number.

I do have the Header & Fax # programmed into Top Access. i can successfully send to the 1888 473-hpfaxme but I never get any response back.

I tried to pen in the info on my send document but still no response.

Examining my previous attempts to send, I have been getting error messages.

00B0 Initial signal not detected
00B5 CFR not detected " A training signal has been sent out but CFR cannot be detected" "Adjust the transmitter attenuator and link equalizer"
00D0 The transmitter cannot detect MCF, RTP, RTN, PIN & PIP. "Reattempt the communication.


Any idea if this is something that needs to be done on the copier side "Adjust the transmitter attenuator and link equalizer" or the telco side?

I do have a dedicated fax line. I had the telco check out the line remotely and they could find nothing wrong.

Telco never finds anything wrong as they only test it as a voice line.
pops, cracks, humms..etc..they don't care about.

This is why I have a but-set...or you can go grab a old analog phone, use it to dial out to something and just listen to the line quality.
Telco needs to do a data test on the line

Those error codes you posted reminds me of a machine not sending faxes outside of the continent, other places was ok, what a headache that was. Not sure what happened but got many calls with the provider to look at the problem.
