[Misc] Toshiba pauses on 100 page or more print count.

I have two Toshiba 5055C copiers, they are running the same firmware. If a user prints one job to the first copier with more than 100 pages it prints just fine. If they send the same job to the 2nd copier it prints so many pages then goes into a wait screen an sits for a minute then starts printing again

What is also weird is it does not make noise when in wait.

It is also nothing special in these print jobs just single page docs with text.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Update,

When searching this forum for other possible solutions I did come across a post of a similar issue but a different model.

The post explains there are sensors called "thermopyles" that can be dirty. I do have the 5055c service manual, but when I searched the manual there is no reference to this type of sensor. Wondering if anyone would know what this is called in the manual?

Id suspect thermistor issues. Unfortunately, the only way to really check them, is to disassemble the fuser belt.
The belt holder has the thermistors. We used to see that on the 3040C series that had the IR sensors. Toner would
float around and deposit on the IR sensors, heat up, crystalize and cause the machine to just run and run and run,
then print out a few more.
If you can, swap the fusers in both machines and see if the problem moves from one to the other.
The thermistors on that model have two thermistors positioned on the front and rear, and another one close to
the middle. The middle one on purpose, is suppose to be "inside" the lip of the belt holder. Some have a habit
of thinking it is suppose to be outside the belt holder.

Does copying pauses like printing more than 100 pages?
If yes you may have a different setting in Admin mode for the calibration interval, maybe is set to lowest. There are 3 options there can't remember exactly.

Are the machines in separate rooms with different room temperatures or fluctuates?

In case you haven't done it, I would format HDD and load fresh FW. You need FW if you decide to format the HDD!!!
These series doesn't have the thermopile, the previous did. Fusers are build in a different way on these.

You can swap the fusers between them to see if fault moves.

What about network speed? Is this a PDF, are they printing from application or Web? are they plugged into a power filter, if so is it 100mbs? I have see this cause a bottle neck and the copier to pause with a wait message on the screen then it will resume job. Is the print light still flashing on the copier when this is happening?

Thank you for the help, I did swap the fuser with a 3rd one that we use for parts and the issue has gone away. Now I will take apart the old one and attempt to clean up the sensors.

            Appreciate it!

Make sure the IP Port is configured the same on both PCs and that the print driver is the same version on both.

Change the port from RAW to LPR
              Print Queue name: print
              Un-check LPR Byte Counting
              Un-check SMTP Status

An automatic Windows update can effect one computer different than the other. Make sure the Toshiba Universal 2 V7.222.54120 or better print driver is installed and not the Microsoft V4 print driver is in use.

How many clicks are on each copier?

What version of firmware is installed on each copier? FW2196 is the latest.

Also, I would clear what logs you can in Top Access to free up some RAM.

These fusers are not really designed to be taken apart, cleaned and reassembled.
For one you are going to need to replenish the oil inside or you are going to have a failure.

There are threads in the forum about a non OEM oil that can be used.
For the most part, if I am opening a fuser of this style..I have all the parts required to rebuild it on hand or I am just wasting time.

Re: Toshiba pauses on 100 page or more print count.

I realize that you've already partially figured this out, but three other reasons that you can get delays are:

Low toner level on one or more colors
slow network speed, because of the setting or because of the network
Media setting i.e. heavy paper media type

Not this model .. but I have seen copiers that are unable to identify a blown heat lamp or pinched heat lamp wire, and can go into very long warmup cycles, attempting unsuccessfully to get the fuser back up to temperature. =^..^=
                    =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
