    Toshiba eSTUDIO 2550c Europe

    Hey,

I have a old secondary printer Toshiba eSTUDIO 2550c Europe that suffered a hard drive failure. I have now replaced and formatted the new hard drive, but the printer requires a firmware to boot up. Could someone maybe provide me one so I could get this device back in working order?

    Sincerely,

Did you install a Toshiba original SED-HDD ? An off the shelf HDD will not work.

It's not ideal to ask for free firmware on your first post. Try making a donation to the site and you'll have a better chance at getting it. But I can't guarantee it.

If the machine has an SSD or an HDD, they are different FW. Greetings Friedel

Re: Toshiba eSTUDIO 2550c Europe Firmware.

I've only found you because I've got an F101 fault keeps coming up on my e-Studio 2550c. Turn it off, leave for 5 minutes and then back on and it's ok for a while. I'd like to update the firmware to see if it is a magical cure. Despite being trained in the art of designing and fixing all things electronic (a very long time ago) I have been ignoring this for a while. It's now bugging me.
              Thanks

              John

Sorry to say, firmware will not fix your intermittent HDD. While it's still working, quick do a clone of the addressbook.
Replace the Wipe Drive. Re-load firmware. Re-load the clone. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That's not the answer I was looking for! 😂
Is the HDD specific to the printer or will any do? Can you tell me where it is in the machine please? Save me stripping it into 1,000,000 pieces?
                  Thank you.

If you're going to be the technician, do it right and get the service manual. There is a very specific procedure to change the HDD and you'll need to follow it.

The HDD is not a standard SATA drive. It has software that wipes the contents after each use, hence: Wipe Drive. You may not substitute another type of drive. Toshiba part #: G0-00732000
If you don't have Toshiba contacts, try Hytec.

Thanks very much for your replies Blackcat4866. Perhaps I should stick to my day job and run the printer until it fails properly and then replace it. I'm not sure it's worth finding somebody local who will have all of the software and knowhow to fix this machine. I'm in Blackburn, Lancashire. Perhaps there is somebody reading this who does have the expertise to keep this printer alive as I do find it very useful.
