    Toshiba estudio 2550c , CA00 error

Hi guys, I usually don't repair Toshiba, this box after the boot cycle indicates the error ca00 and it is almost impossible to enter service mode (I wanted to disable color registration), I saw on the transfer belt that the black alignment test is not printed. Some help...

Unfortunately you cannot disable the colour registration. Only way to get the machine back is to find the fault.

You can remove the Process Unit (Image Unit on all other brands) and check the gears on the back. There is a drive gear on the back that you should be able to freely rotate. if this is seized up or really hard to turn there is not much choice but to replace that unit. They can be stripped and fixed but that it takes about 45mins to an hour dependant on if you have to strip the dev unit down.

Thank you for your reply, I will try in these days. I read around that it could also be caused by jammed paper, I have not done this check.

You can disable registration. Hold 0+8 and turn power on / machine will beep / release 0+8 / when service mode comes up there is no password just press OK / enter 4546 then press Start / setting should be 4 which is default / enter 0 and OK / shut machine down , registration is disabled. Use same process to enable after repair. Like mentioned the black developer gears are most likely cause, so it will feed paper but the black will most likely be missing.

Also, replacing the gears is just a band-aid. The proper repair is to rebuild the assembly using bearings to replace the plastic bushings and replace the seals. With the age of the machine it is also wise to replace the auger that has the sensor wiper on it because they get weak and will cause the assembly to overtone.

Thank you very much I will let you know, in the meantime I purchased the transfer belt cleaning blade because I saw streaks of color on it.
