    [Electrical] 4505 in reboot mode

Machine is in a reboot mode. He had already pulled/replaced
the LVPS for some reason. I had him pull the power connector
on the logic board, and the ribbon cables between system/logic
and the machine rebooted into HS mode. (It wouldn't before).
So he swapped out the logic, still didn't fix it.
He pulled all the toner cartridges and the machine came to
ready. Installed them one at a time, and it worked until he
replaced the black and a few seconds later it started to reboot
again. Tried 2-3 different OEM toners didn't fix it.

He's still trying to track it down, but I'm guessing one of the
contact springs on the inside frame for the toner detect board
is bent, or there is a pinched wire harness from a zip tie somewhere.

That is so interesting!!! Let us know when you get it pinned down. I think I would have started with formatting the HDD, then reloading firmware. The 5vdc line must be shorting out, disrupting the bootup procedure.

That EEPROM contactor will be challenging to get to ... probably the easiest way will be removing the engine top cover and going in through the top. I don't know about you, but my arms are to big to stuff in through the drum/developing unit openings. All I end up with is scratches and bleeding. Or you can go in from the fuser side, black should be within reach. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Re: 4505 in reboot mode

Tech has been doing field calls, hasn't had time to track it down. But, he sent me a video
showing what it is doing. Never saw one do this before. I will DEFINATELY follow up once
he tracks it down. Told him if it is something pinched/broken to take a photo, so I can
      post it.

Oh, by the way it isn't a reboot, it's actually powering off, save for the power LED.

        tech tracked it down

Bad fuser unit. He swapped out the fuser, and the problem disappeared.
Put the old fuser back in, and it did it again.
Something must have been whacky-doodle with the 5v line somewhere.
Leave out the black toner cartridge, and it boots up fine, just says install
black toner. Install black toner, few seconds later it shuts down?

Anyway, there is your weird fix for the day!
