3100c Duplexing problems! -- Out of ideas, help!

I have three Toshiba 3100c color copiers and all of them run and copy very well. They don't however duplex out of the ADU for some reason. They start to duplex but then stop in the exact same place every time. I've done everything I can think of and everything the repair manual suggests. I've switched adu's around and each one does the exact same thing. I've also replaced sensors thinking that might have something to do with it. Anybody have any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

It's so weird. Three copiers do the same problem.
    Try print out error log.

At least that was the last of the stacking duplex units. The gold plates always bent and deformed for me.

The 3100c were like the 310c and 311c. Are you thinking of the 3510c?

The question would be "Where is it stopping?"

If the paper stops as it's trying to get to the stacker (you find it in the metal guides that lift up), I would look at the metal plates to see if their bent. There has to be a gap to allow paper to feed down to the stacker and many times that top plate will get bent and block the paper path. Usually I resolve by reforming metal plate (bend upwards near their mounting point). High tech cure.

If the paper makes it to the stacker and just sits there (finishes first side, fails to start second side), there is a spring clutch in the back of the duplex that likes to fail which will cause this. Clutch failure results in tray being unable to lift the stack to the feed rollers, so no feed. Pull duplex out and look at spring clutch in big white cam assy.

Anything else would be rare and you'll have to give more info on where and how it's jamming.
