I'm running into an issue with a KD-1024 Large Capacity Tray not feeding paper due to the reversing roller binding against the feed roller, has anyone encountered this before and what can be done to fix it?
This is probably not your problem but the only time I saw this exact same thing happen it was a problem with the way the paper was loaded. The customer had several many sheets in the stack which were folded. You could not tell until you took all the paper out. The fold created a "spring" effect in the stack and the feed tires would push down the stack and feed it into the side of the tray instead of up the ramp. (Not sure if it's explained very well but look for the paper folded within the stack!)
Otherwise you have two gears visible from the side of the machine that drive the sep roller. Then there are two clutches and a belt drive and some gears on the back of the machine. When and if you take it apart be careful, it tends to fall apart and you have to lay down or stand on your head to really get to it. Also, if it is the small white gear on the shaft with the sep roller then it can be changed without tearing everything apart, if it is the gear closer to the tray it allllll has to come apart.
