Toshiba estudio 230 ADF not working

    I folks,

When I place documents in my estudio 230's document feeder and press copy or scan, the photocopier/scanner starts alright but nothing happens to the documents in the feeder. The ADF doesn't even make any sound to suggest that it is stuck or anything like that. Is there some setting on the estudio that I need to alter in order to switch on the feeder?

Alternatively, does anyone have any suggestions about how to get the feeder to work, or will I need to get a technician in to look at it?

    TIA

Does the Adf initialize when AC power is applied? If you put a sheet of paper in the adf and then raise it, does the message "close ADF" appear (normal indication)? When you press the ADF start button is the MFP making a copy from the platen, or is the exposure lamp in the ADF read position?. If the 1st 2 questions are yes, then you may have a interlock issue that is keeping 24 vdc from being applied to motors/clutches, but 5vdc is present so logically it's ready to copy. If the answer to the last question is "platen" then your ADF problably is dead and this could be any number of issues from blown fuse on power supply, to blown adf pwb. Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

In addition make sure the ADF cable is plugged into the machine at the back. Do this with the power OFF to the machine and the machine unplugged just for added safety. If it's plugged in and you went through the above post then call somebody.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

ToshibaTech, this is precisely what was wrong! I was moving the copier into a new position and noticed that the cable wasn't plugged in. Stupid newbie mistake.

        Thanks for your help guys.
