Is there way when scanning to FTP to have the copier overwrite a file, if that file already exist? Right now if the file exist the scanner adds -001 to end of the name. We need to have overwrite the file with the name entered by the user.

Don't work on this version of the Toshibas, but on the older systems, when you scan (either FTP, email, or SMB) and leave the document name the default value, the MFP must put something on the end of the file name to allow the end user to determine which doc they want. So if you scan a doc today at 11am and leave the default name alone you get a doc named "DOC092910.pdf". Any other jobs you scan on that date are going to be DOC092910-001,002,003 etc. If you want anything else you must teach the users to modify the document name prior to scanning the job. This can be done by touching edit within the scan screen. Our users are trained how to name the file. The problem exist when they name the file 123456.pdf, then later that file needs to be updated, do to changes in the document(123456.pdf). So they scan the updated file, naming it 123456.pdf, the scanner then saves the file 123456-001.pdf. We cannot have the -001 at the end. If this is the way it works, we will sending this back, as it's not something we can work around.Comment

Now I see the issue...I tried this on one of our KonicaMinolta products..scanned as 123456.pdf. Printed and scanned again as 123456.pdf and now I have 2 different docs with the name as 123456.pdf. No"-001,002 etc. I would suggest calling your Toshiba rep and have him/her get Toshiba support on line and ask if this can work. If not, I can always send a KM rep your way to upgrade. PM me if I can assist. EmujoIf you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.Comment

You should first update your copier firmware. V216 came out in late Aug with lots of upgrades. Minor V218 in Sept.
There are two ways to scan. Both must be set up from the Top Access Web Brower.
Admin, Save as File, Format, File Name Format, select from Drop Down box.
If Scanning from a Template, select the Grey Grey Registration Tab.
Create your Template, Edit, Save as File Setting, File NameComment

I have the templates setup. There is no selection for making user enter filename (which I understand). However, renaming the file to 123456-001.pdf is not an option for us.Comment

Perhaps, I am misreading your question.
You can rename files "on the fly" from a Template.
Press Template.
Press File/ USB
Press File Name. Keyboard in. Press OK.
Press Scan.
You can check. Press Job Status on LCD display. Press Log. Press Scan.Comment

OK I'll try and lay this out better.
I have scanned a document to a network share. File name is 123456.pdf (I manually named this file). There are changes made to the original 123456.pdf (hand written changes on the pdf). The file 123456.pdf needs to be re-scanned to the same location with the exact same name. However the copier is adding -001 to the end of the file name. I can't use the -001 as our application doesn't look for this. It looks for 123456.pdf, not 123456-001.pdf.Comment

I have the same copier in my office and have just tried the same.
I get the same result as you.
If you use the same file name on the same day the copier will auto add -001.
I have called Toshiba Tech support and cannot find a way to turn this off.
Your users will have to slightly rename the file the second time it is scanned.Comment

If the copier is a Lease and you have made your first payment, the transaction is funded by the Leasing company. There is likely no way out except for a very expensive Balance of payments.
If your copier is a Purchase and you have made your payment and you have made more than 1k clicks, you now have a used copier to trade in.Comment
