    e-studio 281 c

    Hello
I will have to start of by saying that Im probarbly a newbie compared to most of you in here.
So I have big hopes for getting help with my problem.

I have recently bought an estudio-281c. I works nicely when it comes to papperhandling and so on. But when I print the pictures becomes faded and greyish. Not evenly but like the color have not gotten stuck to the paper. The problem appears on all of the colors. I have changed toners so that's not it. I have tried diffrent pappers. It's kind of hard to explain exactly how it looks. If I make a test print the collors comes out nice and smoth.
I did a check in the system and there are not really any components that are in need of changing other than,

    main charger wire
    wire cleaning pad
    2nd transfer roller.
    fuser press roller finger
    fuser pressroller eraser brush

What I found when doing an test is that the main motor checked in as abnormal but i have not gotten any problem with color deviation.

Im pretty lost here and dont know what to change to make the pictures become smoth and clear. Every now and then the pictures comes out better and almost perfect.

    thank you in advance.

    All the best
    Fredrik

If the toner is fused to the paper properly, then it sounds to me like a charge issue. Start with main charger and 2nd transfer. Does it get worse when you are using heavier stock?

        Fredrik,

It most likely needs a good cleaning which involves: removing the the transfer belt assy and vac the both drum cleaning blade and transfer belt blade. also clean the laser lens, optics
and then do color calibration from the display panel. Also run 05-395 after you clean it.
If you need the service handbook or manual. go to gotmanuals.com use the contact form and send a manual request they will get you one for free. They also have videos on how to disassemble the 281c.I am not sure how much they are though. Check em out. They help me out all the time.
