[CQ] Toshiba studio 4511 poor cq

Has 27k color images and 167k b/w. 194K total. color images are faint and washed out like bad developer color not bright or crisp at all. Dont have this manual, thought it may be due for p.m. Black looks fairly decent. Not sure of intervals. Thanks for any suggestions

Try cleaning the laser unit... in our experience this caused fainted copies lots of times when everything else seem normal... if you send me your email address I'll be happy to send you the service manual.

      Try this,

-Hold down 0+5 while turning the power on and hold till it beeps.
-Press 4 then the fax button
-Place the printed chart on the glass with the 2 black vertical blocks towards the scan glass
      -press start
      -press enter

-hold down energy saver until it starts beeping

      -turn on in normal mode.

      Give that a shot.

^Actually if you do this you can't just press start, you have to enter in 1642 and then press start.

However this same gamma calibration is available by going to User Functions > Admin > "123456" > General > Calibration while the copier is at "Ready."

I agree though that the best bet is to tear the machine apart and clean the laser slit glass. Trans/belt has to be raised up and then drum/cleaner unit pulls out. Then you can get to it with a rag on the end of a long stick or something. Or you can take the LED erase assy out and get to it by hand.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

Or you can do it the easy way and take of the back/panel and the LHS cover under the exit tray, take off 1 loom and 1 ribbon cable, undo 1 screw that hold the laser in place and slide out the whole laser assy to clean the slit glass and heartsink, and covers..

Or you can put a chain on it, and use it as a boat anchor.

check 08 251 and 252 and see what they are at.
then 6 + start 2 start and see where they are at.
I believe the color is replaced at 30K and the black at 120 or 150k.
Than there are the cleaning blades, charge wire, grid, transfer rollers.
Then also is the paper settings correct?
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

When you slide in the drum unit make sure the metal plate in front goes around the revolver bearing properly or the drum will be to far away from the color develepers and make washed out copies even though the black copies are fine.
