    e167

I have problem with e167, when copying from glass or ADF getting black or distorted copy, with black trail edge. It's shrinked too. I believe it's not laser, because prints from copier are good.

Check movement of carriage and position of the driving belt in the scanner unit.

I'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.

Everything looks ok when scanner moves. What I forgot to mention is that every time when enter diagnostic (05) copies are even worse, all messed up. Sometimes when press start, it freezes and must turn off. One of my friends says that one small SRAM board must be changed.

Printout 05 and 08 codes and check for values out of limit (according to SH). Get values to them defaults. Changing SRAM is the last thing to do.

Have you caused this issue when fixing another or is this the original fault? Without an example I would guess arching charge unit. Any codes?

It was original fault. Machine is almost new, just 18K.
