    Remove paper from finisher

I have an ES452 with an MJ1101 that shows "remove paper from the finisher" when trying to output to the staple tray. I searched FYI, but didn't find anything. Can't find anywhere to check the sensors. Any ideas appreciated.
    Hope that helps !

Check the sensor on the tray.

IS there paper in the tray? In the finisher?

go into service mode and start checking sensor states change them and look for the corresponding state change

That's the problem, there doesn't seem to be a check for those sensors. Tried switching it with the other tray sensor and that didn't change anything. Must be the board not changing signals ?
          Hope that helps !

Find the finisher manual on FYI. I believe you have to use the dipswitches on the finisher pwb to test the switches. Also check the actuator on the tray for easy operation.

I forgot the goofy way Toshiba does crap. Yep, it's in the Finisher manual. I did find a troubleshooting guide for that finisher also on FYI. Thanks !
              Hope that helps !

I'm so glad we're no longer a Toshiba dealer. The service manual is incorrect as far as checking the sensors. It tells you to change dipswitch 3, but it's really two. After figuring that out, I never could get in to test the sensor. It says 5-4, but that's not correct either. We've got a 1024 in the warehouse luckily.
                Hope that helps !

We've had this problem before. It was a cracked wire harness- which the MJ1101's are famous for.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?
