    toshiba 281c black "zebra stiping"

the 281c is zebra stiping the black , on a sky shot i get a reocurring "missing" section like a reverse zebra stiping. like the dv has been used up, or no toner has been added and the dv roller cant pick enough up. this is the second machine i have this issue with,i just reload the dv and do the calibration, but it will reoccure, no solution to it? i have adjusted the bk dv roller rasise up and down adjustment, still same issue, can it just not be calling for toner and using up the dv? would it not code out if toner motor goes out? i need a fix for this please..... thanks

I have had this problem caused by people not cleaning the charger, replacing the grid (also reset it in pm support mode). Change the ozone filter to.
Just an after thought, have you checked the erase lamps are working fine?

      Hope that helps
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

This takes care of the problem for us as well, with new dev it wont come back...until the corona has been neglected for too long again!

ok cool advise, but one machine has only 64k on it, and the other about 85k, so the corona is already gone?, humidity could be a factor on one of them but the other is in ac office condition.

The machine should adjust the IQC to compensate for humidity. If the most of those print/copies are colour and the colour dev unit mylars are at the 'in position' the machines can get dirty pretty quick.

I thought air conditioning caused a decrease of humidity in a room?

you are correct, AC lowers the humidity in the room. If the AC is running more than usual, the room will get drier and can cause problems with charge grids/ coronas. We see it a lot in the winter when we get cold, dry days.
