ADF Scanning half of image light and streaky?

Hi.
I purchased my machine from ebay and it works fine apart from when i use the adf.
When i place a document on the scan bed and photo copy it is perfectly fine, but when i put the same image through the ADF it print without error but half the image is faded and streaky.
I have attached a file to show you the original and ADF copy.
Anyone have a rough idea what is the problem or how to fix this?
Im a little tech savvy so can carry out adjustments etc if directed.

What model is it you are using ?

OOps, i forgot to mention.
Its a Estudio 230 B&W.

We had some machines that did that late ya en the top of the frame got bent in shipping. Df wouldn't scan right since it could't sit flat on glass. Simply heave on the top of the frame and see if it helps. Ours were 255's.

Did you try to clean the mirros, remove the platen glass and clean all the mirros and the small rectangular glass beside the platen which the paper pass from adf and also the exposure lamp, hope it helps.
