Did you clear the NVRAM flags and partition the HDD correctly all from assist mode?
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Did you make sure to put the Nvram & ROMs off the old system board onto the new one?

Is the board new or second hand? if it's not new, is it an older rom version than the one you removed? (had a similar issue on 4511s when fitting a S/H sys board & the rom version on the board was much lower than the one that came off & the MFD wouldn't boot)

Is it the correct sys board (ie: not for another varient of the RIO)?

Have you tried changine the HDD as this is probably the most common cause of an MFD not booting / hanging at the 'splash screen'.

can you get into 05 or 08 mode? if you can, check the serial number is there.

What was the initial fault? fairly unusual for a sys board to fail on these.

Sounds like something to do with the system board. What was the original fault you changed the system board for?
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

I've seen the same problem a few times. Did you reseat the nvram? A couple of times reseating it fixed and the others I had to replace it.

Try forcing the firmware upgrade with DLM320 jig and latest EPROMS.
