    [CQ] TOSHIBA E-650 GHOSTING

Frst copy is always clean, ghosting begins with 2nd copy and continues, same place on each page, 71mm or about 2 3/4 " to the right of original using a test sheet image. Fuser or Drum? I replaced developer, fuser rollers, cleaning blade and drum, still ghosting. What to do?

Wondering if the developer got some toner in it when I replaced the developer.. would that cause it?

Have you checked the led erase lamps to make sure they are working and transfer belt unit. ?
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

Yeah, you may want to get all that toner out of the developer..you're gonna need a very strong magnet and a vacuum cleaner...place magnet on one side and vacuum on the other, leave a space about 6 inches wide...pour developer between opening...EMujo

ha! should have said, old nasty toner. But that wouldn't explain why the latent image only appears with multi-copy.

the quality of any single copy is just fine, but anytime run multiple copy, ghosting on everything after the first. the ghost image is uniform, same place on every page, using a sel-drum test sheet.. another thing I can't figure out, the ghosted typing shows up as a faint black image in the white space, but shows as a negative image in the black box on the test page..

ok, one of you experienced techs has to be smart enough to figure this one out. I've seen several forums with this issue in Toshiba copiers, and no solution..

Why is this thing ghosting only with multi-copy and not for repetitive single copies? check out the attached pdf. E650Ghosting.pdf

New charge plate and corona wire no help. Clean the blanking LED array, no help. Noticed some slight rubbing/binding in the movement of the cleaning blade.. I think the binding was just enough to hold the blade off the drum or put it on the drum with lighter pressure than normal.. replaced the blade and quality is 100% again..

Once again, a simple solution after a couple of long goose chases looking at transfer belt, blanking, bias potentials, etc..

Hey Bro...replace the drum cleaning blade and the black brush roller in the cleaning section....If it's been showing this symptom for a while it may have to have a new drum...but start with the blade and brush roller

MichaelC mentioned the erase lamps, you said you cleaned them, but have you actually seen them turn on? No drum discharge might cause this. Emujo
